It's a funny old balance isn't it.

Yes, podcasting is a great way of getting your message out there, yet
there is much more to the running of a successful business.

I have just ordered the book "Getting all you can out of all you've
got"

Jay Abraham is one of the most influential marketers on the planet, and
makes the case for unused resources right in front of our nose. And I
agree with him- so I will be devouring that book.

It seems a 3 fold "problem". I mean the reason why I started a business
was for more freedom. I realise that some new skills need to be learned
of course and that some work is involved. Yet ultimately, freedom is
the "desire behind the desire"
* Financial intelligence/Business sense and cash producing assets"
* Time
* Mindset and beliefs

Financial Intelligence

Robert Kiwosaki writes in "Rich Dad, Poor Dad" all about financial
intelligence, and this would cover investing, and creating cash
producing assets (an asset is something that puts something into your
pocket, and a liability is something that takes cash out". I get that.
It also covers the income from the assets exceeding outgoings, that
would be financial freedom in my opinion- or at least one definition)

Time

This is an obvious one. When you are self employed it throws up another
set of problems. Of course, it is great to have the independence, and I
love that idea, yet when doing what you love - ie play, starts to
become work, in other words social time and work time start to fuse..
that can kinda take the joy out of it can't it? I really recommend this
link to Marie-Claire Carlyle's blogwhere she talks about it in great
detail. Marie Claire ticks all the boxes for me, there is financial
intelligence, business savvy, and great mindset teachings as well,
speaking of which...

Inner Game

Beliefs, perceptions.... self image. We gotta get our mindset right or
there is not much point. "Happy now eager for more" is a good one,
"really want something that you believe you can have", that's a good
one. I recently made a list of the beliefs I would like to have in many
areas of my life, and I am working (if that's the right word) to
real-ize ie - make them real.

So it would seem the above all together make a pretty potent mix.

The Podcasters Bible | Podcasting How To | Create Your Own Podcast

So, after another session with my mentor, I formulated a flexible
business plan.

The outcome I am after here is to create a radio show that gives
relevant internet marketing information, that has plenty of listeners,
and that relates to folks around the world. Solves problems. Helps
people launch their businesses. Gives people a place or platform to
market themselves from. Have fun. And market relevant products. Caters
to peoples needs given the medium it is.

And teach people how to do the same as well. Using radio as a fun
medium.

Nicola Cairncross is my mentor, and we recorded a cracking show last
week, which is all about local business marketing, either creating a
lucrative business model helping others, or doing it yourself.

I am testing a search engine protocol as well, where when this post is
published, it will go to 10 social networks, twitter and facebook. Now,
in my inexperience, I thought if I used as many keywords as possible,
then that would lead to more search engine love. But... King Google has
rumbled that game and it is called "stuffing". Google, being in the
trust business (if you like), are seeking relevance, so will reward a
more relevant page with less leywords, than loads of keywords that are
not that relevant. It is important to have the keyword in the title as
well.

Yes, I researched the keywords, hi demand, low competition, but even if
they are good keywords, they need to be relevant.

When it comes to tagging, google do not read tags anymore, but Yahoo
and Bing do, so that's worth knowing.

Knowing how to create your own podcast is a valuable marketing skill,

Podcasting How To | SEO on the cheap posted by admin on May 4, 2011

I thought I would make a quick podcast, all about SEO (Search Engine
Optimisation) on a budget.

I have been working with my mentor, Nicola Cairncross, who showed me
some great tricks and tips.

I wanted to do a test to see how quickly this post would show in the
Search Engines- when I post this, it will go to Twitter, and about 10
Social Networks, and Twitter- on 6 researched keywords.

I am not expecting miracles, but I am testing and tweaking a system to
quickly and easily get stuff to rank highly in the Search Engines as
quickly as possible.

So one, or two clicks, and 30 minutes or more saved.

Yes, it needs setting up once, but that's it!

I do have to post manually to my Facebook Page, Onlywire does not yet
allow that, but apparently the engineers are working on it, and I will
let you know.

Other tweaks we made were installing a plugin, so I could see my
traffic analytics without leaving the blog, and changing permalinks so
that each blog post would get Search Engine Love as well.

So to sum up, that's 10 Social networks, Twitter, Facebook a permalink,
AND it will go to at least one Podcast directory as well.

Heads up: There's an ongoing spamdexing of Google searchbot algorithms. Sites that are 'copies of copies' and cloaked sites which include Zorgium keywords presented to search engine crawlers yet garbage content presented to human visitors were hosted on thousands of IP addresses and domains registered immediately after the introduction of Zorgium in November of 2009. The Hostgator/'The Planet'/Softlayer datacenters in Texas seem to be the epicenter of this activity in conjunction with anonymously registered domains of various TLD's but primarily .info domains at Godaddy which, in our opinion, has some sort of connection to the domains of goldmint.in and goldmint.org. Google has begun to notice this and has begun to lower the ranking of these sites and put our original sites back on top of the search rankings. These actions, as far as we can tell, negatively impact the use of the keyword 'zorgium' as a search term and provided little benefit, if any, to the perpetrators.

ZORGIUM note to content providers: If you don't want your page to appear in Zorgium's search abstraction then put an exclusion for "Zorgium" in your web server's robots.txt file.
